Homework Club

Schoolwork can be overwhelming for many kids, especially those who struggle with focus, motivation, or organization. At Willow Tree, our Homework Club offers a structured, supportive space where elementary age children from grades 2-8 can complete schoolwork, strengthen executive functioning skills, and learn how to work independently—with encouragement every step of the way.

  • Homework Club is an afterschool group program designed to support:

    • Executive functioning skills and using systems that work for your child

    • Homework completion and study skills

    • Time management, organization, and task initiation

    • Emotional regulation during frustrating or boring tasks

    • Asking for help and building academic confidence

    • Accountability in a calm, non-judgmental setting

Led by experienced clinicians, Homework Club blends academic support with executive functioning coaching, our goal is to help establish systems and sharpen executive functioning skills to increase your child’s success at completing school work independently.

  • The group will take place at our Upper Beaches Location: 145 Main Street, Toronto

The program will run twice per week, you may enroll in the program once or twice per week.
Mondays and Wednesdays between 4:00-5:00pm throughout the school year.

      • Juniors: Gr 2-3

      • Intermediate: 4-6

      • Seniors: 7-8

  • What We Work On:

    • Breaking down and organizing assignments

    • Using visual schedules and checklists

    • Learning how to start (and finish!) tasks

    • Self-monitoring and asking for support

    • Managing overwhelm or avoidance

    • Developing healthy study habits that last

    • Using a planner or developing systems that work

    • Taking accountability for our assignments and projects

    • Helping your child complete and understand the homework they bring in.

We are not academic tutors - we support executive functioning skills. We may help with a specific academic topic but your child must bring in their own homework/textbook to practice the materials they need additional support with.

    • Small group sizes

    • Structured environment with gentle accountability

    • Led by trained clinicians (e.g., therapists or educational specialists)

    • We provide the support materials, just bring the homework and if you have an agenda - that too!

    • Parent updates to support follow-through at home

    • We do offer 1:1 support within the group if your child is not yet ready to be independent within a group environment.

    • Opportunities to build friendships!

    • We reserve the last 10 minutes of homework club for a group game at the end of session to celebrate meeting our goals together!
