Inner Canvas:

An Art-Based Mental Health Group for Teens in Toronto

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”

Inner Canvas

An Art-Based Mental Health Group for Teens, giving them a creative community to express, connect, and grow.

Inner Canvas is an art-based mental health group designed to help teens explore their thoughts, emotions and identity while building confidence, friendship skills and developing real-life coping skills, within a supportive, low-pressure environment.

Through creativity, connection, and guided support, teens are given the space to better understand themselves and feel more confident navigating their world.

No art experience needed!

What this group is all about:

Inner Canvas blends art, mental health, and skill-building to support teens in a way that feels natural and engaging.

Our program is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but this is not traditional talk therapy. All of this is woven into creative, art-based experiences that feel natural, engaging, and supportive.

Rather than focusing on labels or diagnoses, we help teens build real-life skills to:

  • Understand their thoughts and emotions

  • Explore their identity, values and self expression

  • Respond to and manage anxiety in healthier ways

  • Develop confidence and self-awareness through creativity

  • Take meaningful action aligned with who they want to be

  • Connect with others in a low-pressure way

  • Understand their inner thoughts, emotions and beliefs

  • Build confidence, self-esteem and a sense of Identity

  • Navigate friendships and social challenges

  • Strategies to navigate bullying and peer pressure

  • Develop emotional awareness and regulation

  • Build a healthier relationship with social media
